Pre-Xmas lunch

Heyy everyone,

I’m going to write a slighty longer post this time as I have been a little more MIA this time as I have had a lot to study, alongside festive season duties… and with more festivities, I don’t know how much more time I will have to write.

Since all my relatives live in Italy we always spend Christmas there with them, so a lot of my presents usually are cute small things from London as they appreciate those little things more rather than something big you can get anywhere, or even nice clothes from shops that they don’t have in Italy. However, I also think it is the thought and effort that counts, who else agrees?

My boyfriend and I decided to have a pre christmas lunch together since I was going to Italy and he was staying in London. We went to an Italian restaurant, Il Tetto (which means ‘the roof’), which of course, was on the roof of Selfridges. We went as online it looked super festive, which it was, with all the lights and decorations and looked adorable. See for yourself in the photos.

We were super lucky because I forgot to book, so we just went and attempted our luck. We were seated after 20 minutes which was great. The place was really beautiful, we were also lucky with the weather as it was sunny, which made the window seats we had really bright and warm. The food of course, was also really tasty, although, I have to say, the service wasn’t too great. I had the salmon with beans and my boyfriend had the burger (I swear thats all he eats ha), both really good, however, the burger was a bit small for the price… at least in my boyfriends opinion, i’m not really a burger person, so i’m not really sure.

After having eaten we went outside on the terrace to look at the view, sit in the huts for a while and take some pics 😀 which was lovely and relaxing.

Mid-week blues

Hello everyone,

I Hope everyones getting through the week ok

I have finally finished my first term of my third year at uni and will not be having anymore lectures EVERR… so happy 😀 However… that doesn’t exactly mean I have a fun relaxing holiday ahead… exams and fashion week coming at me in January as well as dissertation work to keep up to date. Fun, right?! 😦

I had a bit of a break this weekend. I decided to just relax, enjoy and not think about anything at all. Although, unfortunately Monday came pretty quickly and it’s already Wednesday! At the moment i’m trying to fight those mid-week blues, make sure I stay in my routine, waking up early and making sure I get everything done, bit by bit, so I don’t get too stressed. Of course with the help of a few cups of coffee.. and some christmas music in the background 😉

I recently discovered this company which creates coffee with all the right amount of vitamins you need inside… and without compromising on the taste of the coffee. What better way to get all your vitamins and kick start your day all in one, right?! It has definitely helped me. Especially this season, since it’s important to remember to get all the vitamins your body needs to be able to give your body enough strength and energy to function and fight those cold and dark winter days. Anyways I definitely recommend trying it, its called Vitamin Coffee and their Instagram is @vitcoffee. It would also make a nice little gift for any of your loved ones that LOVE their coffee as much as I do!

Go give them some love, they deserve it! ha

Now just get into the Christmas spirit and enjoy yourselves a little bit more. I hope everyone has a lovely time being surrounded by your loved ones, spending more family time and most importantly don’t forget to give yourselves some much needed self-love.

Just a little reminder to be positive, happy and kind to everyone around… a little kindness goes a long way, especially during this time of the year!

Winter Wonderland

Hello everyone!

It’s finally December and the festive season has officially started.. and i’m SUPER excited! I love London during this time of the year as the city is full of pretty lights and decorations everywhere. London really knows how to make this season feel super special (apart from with the FREEZING weather, of course). Anyone else agree?

Last week I went Winter Wonderland for my boyfriends birthday. I love it there, it never fails to put me in a really festive mood. All the different christmassy stalls, candy, rides, hot chocolate make me REALLY happy…

oh I almost forgot mulled wine as well of course. (I’m not much of a drinker but mulled wine during Christmas time is something I love to enjoy).

We then went on the ride with the 5 big loops, which was insane but so much fun and then my boyfriend played a dart game and won that huge teddy 😀 (P.S. If you hadn’t guessed I love anything soft and fluffy). We enjoyed some popcorn and hot chocolate as well before heading to our dinner reservation. Had I seen the stall before, I would have gone for the warm roasted chestnuts, because its just the perfect time of the year and what better way to keep you warm, am I right?

If you haven’t already been, you should definitely go! However, do yourself a favour and if you can go during the week as the weekends get super busy… it kinda gets stressful.

I hope you enjoyed this post and are enjoying the festive season! It’s more than acceptable to be listening to Christmas music now… I know i’ve been getting my daily dose of festive music these days 😛

Sweater Weather

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend 😀

I have a new outfit to share with you guys. So it is definitely come to that time of the year that all I want to wear is comfy and cosy big knits! Anyone else agree?! Either way I wanted to share with you the last sweater I bought lately (actually thats a lie coz black friday… but still waiting on those). I love this jumper as it is so cosy, soft and it is HUGE and also really easy to dress with jeans, boots or sneakers or even over a dress or with a skirt. Anyways, its too cold for a skirt at the moment.

I decided to pair it with a new pair of jeans, which a lot of people have been asking me where I got them from. I combined these with statement biker boots because I felt like it completed the look and it is so effortless and cool for those cold and dark winter days.

Eating out

Hey guys,

I’m backk, i’m REALLY SORRY for being M.I.A again, but I had deadlines coming up, so was super stressed and studying all day everyday…. fun, right?!

Anyways, back to the post. As some of you may know I am really into fitness and following a healthy, balanced and nutritional regime, so, I thought I would touch on this topic a bit. I was having brunch with a friend the other day and the topic of eating outside came up. Talking about how it is hard to keep up with a healthy lifestyle if you enjoy eating outside a lot with friends that don’t really care. However, i believe that it is much easier than people think and people tend to over think everything.. I do it too!

My boyfriend loves burger and pizzas of course, so he drags me out for those (often enough). I normally always find something I can eat.. and believe me.. those who know me know that I am a VERY picky human when it comes to my food. The other day we went to Gourmet Burger Kitchen, which you would assume isn’t a very ‘healthy’ – style restaurant. Although they do have salad options, they can still be quite boring. However they also have bun free burgers as well as veggie options. I had a bun-free veggie kale falafel ‘burger’ with the side of salad instead… which at the end is a salad really…

But hey I found it tastier than the other salad options looked and definitely more filing. So it was a win-win situation really.

Either way, I definitely want to say that even though I got a salad, it is perfectly normal to enjoy yourself every-so-often and get what you really fancy, if that is a burger… then go right ahead, why not?! I’m not saying that, that gives you the excuse to go eat fast-food at every meal or binge but it’s also important not to deprive yourself of the foods you like.

Here are some more photos of other days I go out to eat either with friends or with my boyfriend.

This post was slightly different to my usual post, so I hope you enjoyed it and let me know what you think 🙂

From day to night

Hello everyone!

I’m back with another post for you guys.

Today I have prepared an outfit for you that can be easily transformed from an everyday “cool” outfit to fancier evening attire. Something you can wear to brunch with friends on a Saturday and then easily change to go to a dinner or clubbing with friends perhaps.

Both the top and bottoms I got recently, oh and of course from Zara… surprise surprise 😀 So you can still purchase them both here:
Polo Neck Sweater

Trousers with Red Stripe

I wore white Stan Smith Sneakers from Adidas but they will go pretty much with any sneaker, black or white or if you like a bit of colour then red, as well as high tops.

For the evening look I wore it with a pair of Zara boots which I got a while ago but I have found some other heeled boot options  below you could go for instead 😉

Black Boots

Red Boots

I absolutely adore this top because I love turtle necks as they are so comfy, go with pretty much anything and make the outfit look classy as well as trendy. Oh and of course living in London turtle necks come in VERY handy 😦

Oh and in case you wanted to know the backpack I brought with me that day is from Stella McCartney 😀

I hope you enjoyed this post…and i’m not boring you guys!

P.S. Do let me know if there is anything you would like to see on my blog; topics, outfits, interiors, holidays…

all suggestions are more than welcome 😀

My typical Week-day (when not at uni)

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to tell you a bit about my average Monday as well as get a cute outfit post out there for you guys. I am in my 3rd and final year of uni so I have a lot of studying to do. Usually I either study at home or at a cafe with a friend in the morning. This time round I went to a cafe in Aldgate East called Treves and Hyde, with a friend. Of course we didn’t go that far for just any cafe… we went purely because of the pretty pink interiors. JK… (I think).

Anyways, If you’re a pink fan then this cafe is heaven plus the fact that the food is really tastyyy, staff are so lovely and oh in case I didn’t mention it enough already…the baby pink interiors are dreamy. We ordered Japanese style salmon with avocado purée, tuna tartar, scallops and sweet potato wedges with yogurt dressing and shared everything. It was really delicious and had a different twist to it than the cafe’s I usually go to. We then had coffee, matcha and a little sweet treat, which was perfect to keep us studying well.

For the outfit, I wanted to be comfortable but at the same time wear something cute and since it happened to be sunny that morning, I took full advantage and went back to some pastel pink summery colours. I wore my comfy slim mom jeans and paired it with a cute vest and a bomber on top.

Although the vest had a nice open back I got too cold and I changed top half way through… and took more photos because..well, why not! I love this top as well and it also worked super well with the outfit. Oh and the interiors of course… love matching the interiors 😉

After spending most of my day there, I grabbed a quick snack at home and got myself to the gym, for a nice sweaty workout before then going back to studying, dinner and a nice long bath before bed.

Top: Zara – Similar

Top No.2: Topshop – Similar

I hope everyone’s hanging on… only half way to the weekend! 😀

Lunch at Borough Market

Hello everyone,

I’m back and i’m going to talk about the mini ‘adventure’ I had around London when my cousin visited from Italy. Due to both my parents being Italian, all my relatives live in Italy and my family and I go to Italy more than they come down. So, of course i’m always super excited when they come to visit.

During the 4 days she was here we did a lot of shopping, walking around London through all the parks, ate lots of good food, and also ended up at Borough Market, which I had actually never been to. Oh and of course I took her clubbing. A little party never hurt… am I right? 😉

London view from near Borough Market

The market was actually so pretty and had some amazing food with a huge variety to choose from. There was Thai, Indian, English, Mexican, Chinese… you name it. I found a nice little Vegan stall which had vegan burgers and salad bowls, which is kind of my version of ‘food heaven’ so of course I ended up getting the salad bowl and I can tell you this… it was definitely 100% worth it! My cousin on the other hand got a nice Indian plate which I must admit was also so tempting.

Vegan Salad Bowl

Having had lunch we continued to look at all the stalls and came across one selling nut butters and found turmeric and maple cashew butter. I am aware it sounds weird but I absolutely L O V E nut butters and I can’t get enough of turmeric either. I was initially slightly skeptical about it but after being convinced to try it…DAMN…

And then I get asked where all my money goes… to little 8£ jars of nut butter… whoops?

If you ever find yourself near London Bridge go have a walk through Borough Market and pick up some tasty goods too. It will be totally worth it, I promise. Food is always a good idea 😉

Hope everyone’s having a great start to the weekend 😀

Dinner at the OXO Tower

Heyy everyone,

I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend. I’ve had a bit of a stressful week but i’m going to write a short review post for now but will be posting something longer sooner. I went for dinner at the OXO Tower the other night with my boyfriend and thought I would just share what I thought about the food there.

To begin, we shared a starter which was goats cheese wrapped in butternut squash with figs. This was my favourite plate, it was delicious and looked so pretty.

For the main, I had duck whereas my boyfriend had lamb. I am not a big fan of lamb so would always recommend the duck but if you like lamb it was still tasty and the sides made the plate look very vibrant and much prettier than mine.

Now, for the desert, we both aren’t that big of fans of sweet things and much prefer savoury so we shared a desert, (although we did end up picking the desert that was meant for 2 people anyways). We had the mixed berry soufflé, and wasn’t too impressed by it although It did look stunning, i’ll give them that! However, both my boyfriend and I found it a bit too sweet for our taste buds and I ended up just eating all the mixed berries on the side.

I really enjoyed the food there as well as the ambience and the view. They have a wonderful terrace which looks onto the river thames and St Paul’s cathedral. Since it was dark when we went you could see all the lights from the city and boats which made the view so much more special.

Vegan Cookies

Hey everyone,

Hope everyone is having a great September. I had some spare time on my hands due to being ill and bored at home for a few days (thanks to London Fashion Week), so decided to do some baking. I love baking but never really get round to doing it. As some of you may know already, I love to eat healthy (90% of the time, at least) and due to having a very sensitive stomach, I don’t eat much gluten or dairy products either.

I took the recipe idea from ‘the best 5 ingredient cookie’ recipe on Deliciously Ella’s website as I love her recipes and always use hers as inspiration for when I cook. Since chestnut season is finally starting (and of course I LOVE chestnuts) I wanted to include some of those in my cookies. So I made a few with and some without as well as adding raw dark chocolate pieces into some too.

They were really fun to make and superrr easy. It was my first time making them so I was a little scared as to how they would turn out and to share it with everyone… but I was actually happily surprised at how they turned out so decided why not. They may not be the best looking cookies.. but they sure did taste good so I’m happy 😀

The ingredients:

1 cup of ground almonds
1/2 cup of ground chestnuts
12 medjool dates (soaked in water for 5 mins)
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 tablespoon flax seeds
3 tablespoons almond milk
2 cubes of raw dark chocolate cut into small pieces

pre-heat the oven at 180c, fan setting.
Place all the ingredients (- the choco chips) in a food processor and whizz until it sticks all together and looks like cookie dough.
Add some chocolate chips, raisins or whatever you may fancy (I actually preferred the plain ones without any chocolate).
Then create cookie shapes and just stick them into the oven for roughly 15 mins.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Lots of Love,

Laura xxx
